  • JSON Designer: Added JSON support for Business Central (13504).
    • To use this feature, the following SettingsKey must be added:
      • Name: EnableExternalJsonDesigner
      • Key Value: true/false
      • Product: DocumentsCorePackClient

General Updates/Improvements

  • Connection Dialog: Disabled the Dataverse tab while Business Central is enabled (16175).
  • Debugging: Added a confirmation dialog when attempting to delete all debug log entries (15187).
  • When choosing a table during initial template setup, you can now see the table’s logical name when hovering over it (15740).
  • The Add-In will now retrieve language settings from the user’s settings in Business Central (17577).
  • Adjusted the name of the Add-In in various dialogs to correctly refer to it as the “Layout Designer” instead of the “Template Designer” (17558).
  • Functionalities and navigational menu items that require a connection will now be hidden if a connection does not yet exist. Additionally, opening the application settings to adjust the debug mode no longer requires a connection (15297).
  • Removed a license check (16224).
  • Minor improvements to the template creation process (18260, 18331, 18259, 10906, 8791).

Bug Fixes

  • Save Template: Fixed an issue where an error would occur when attempting to save a template (14795).
  • Condition Dialog: Fixed an issue where opening the Condition Dialog after inserting a field would cause an error to occur (19063).
  • Condition Fields:
    • Fixed an issue where the prompt that appears when deleting a condition field with content did not appear properly (14015).
    • Fixed an issue where, when opening  the condition properties (from ribbon or from taskpane) and inserting a related field that has the same table in it as the base table, its dropdown values are not loading (15468).
  • Prompts: Fixed an issue where adding a prompt in the template settings while the designer was opened did not update the listed prompts in the “Insert Field” button (8282).
  • JSON: Fixed an issue where inserting JSON schema would cause an error to occur (18395).
  • Application Settings: Fixed an issue where sample data was not appearing (18378).
  • Sample Data:
    • Fixed an issue where sample data was not appearing when a QID filter was active (15797).
    • Fixed an issue where removing sample data did not update the Layout Designer taskpane accordingly (10148).
  • QR Code, Picture Link, Advanced String, and Hyperlink Fields: Fixed an issue where, if the pattern defined in the field properties is only a string pattern, the string is added to a document property, causing issues when saving the template (15851).
  • Relationship Designer: Fixed an issue where adding a separate table from the “Favorites” tab would not cause it to be automatically selected in the treeview (15652).
  • Static Document Field: Fixed an issue where editing a static document field and saving it adds an extra set of brackets (“{}”) to the template ID (16093).
  • Template Versioning: Fixed an issue where recovering a template would sometimes cause an infinite loop (13386).
  • Create Document:
    • Fixed an issue where entering data into the search bar was very slow (16401).
    • Fixed an issue where merging a template while sample data was set would cause the dialog to rerender, displaying loading animations again and prolonging the merge process (15424).
  • Dark Mode: Fixed an issue where URLs were not visible while Dark Mode was enabled (17734).
  • Fixed an issue where the UI would give improper feedback when attempting to connect after being redirected to the connection dialog (15368).
  • Fixed an issue where pattern strings created in the “Text” tab would be missing single quotes, causing a validation error to occur upon save (16108).
  • Fixed an issue where the “Help” button would cause its corresponding task pane to get stuck in an infinite loop (16964).
  • Fixed an issue where the document Fetch XML would not be recreated correctly (19272).
  • Fixed an issue where inserting a content control that is not editable (e.g. a DocuSign radio button) will prevent the entire corresponding row from being edited (12402).
  • Fixed an issue where field dropdowns can end up oversized if a field using sample data contains an extremely long entry (e.g. a base 64 string) (16987).
  • Fixed a template conversion issue where the template fails to convert despite feedback indicating that it had succeeded (15728).
  • Fixed an issue where the login button from the taskpane did not work correctly in Edge or Chrome due to an expired connection token (15159).
  • Fixed an issue where the “Change Connection” button did not redirect properly outside of the Connection Dialog (11815).
  • Fixed an issue where document generation failed if the template contained a field from a deeply nested relationship (19286).
  • Fixed an issue where a misleading warning message would appear if the user was missing certain privileges (13405).
  • Adjusted the text in the “Getting Started” pop-up to prevent the text from overflowing (17997).
  • Other minor fixes to the template creation process (14860, 18534, 15295, 12707, 12758).
